Welcome To Compound Microscope

Compound Microscope is an instrument consisting two converging lenses that are set in the two extremities of a hollow cylinder. These two lenses are the objective (lower power) which is located near the object being examined and the eyepiece(high power) which is positioned near the eye of the researcher. Its cylinder is set upright to a screw, which allow it to be higher or lower until the object is already focus or until the image is clearly visible. It is made out of many mechanical and optical components and is an accurate instrument.

The performance of compound microscope relies on the quality of its mechanical parts and lenses. The user must always keep in mind that the resolution of this microscope also rely on the relative location of all its optical parts and not just the property of each elements.

There are two type of lights coming from two separate directions that are being used in the operational mode of a compound microscope. A light that travels through the microscope slide and then retracted by the specimen is referred as transmitted light or can be called as diascopic illumination. On the other hand, if the light moves from the direction of objective it is known as incident light or episcopic illumination. This type of microscope is commonly used on different fields like  botany, education, health research, drug crimes and other crimes.

Botanists use the compound microscope to study the parts of plants and determine the organism that lives on it. It can also identify fungus or other diseases that you can get from the plants.

In education, compound microscope is helpful to students for examining tiny objects which cannot be seen with the naked eye. In terms of health aspects, scientists use it to study human cells and tissues that can help to detect diseases.

In drug crimes, forensic experts and investigators use it to examine confiscated drugs to identify what country the drug is grown from. Often times the figure of the crystals which the drug is made out of can provide indispensable facts about its identification.

Distinctly, there is a progress made on the field of medicine because of the invention of compound microscope. The Scientist’s information about bacteria and cells has contributed to their intelligence about the healthiness of human being and animals behavior, what is the root cause of ¬†diseases and what is the best thing to do to prevent them.
